Recognizing a stroke

i bet this email has gone around to almost most of you for quite some time… but it’s still hard to get the knowledge into our brains just by reading the email once and quickly, and deleting it after that… myabe using the blog might help to root this stuff into ou brains better…

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

Remember the ‘3′ steps, STR . Read and Learn!

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e.. It is sunny out today.)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

I just realized the cute guy I talked about in colbie caillat’s band is actually an established and averagely-popular musician cum singer himself! Plus, he’s a little bit Asian, which I kinda sensed that when I watched him on videos… but he’s not only a little Asian, he’s also from the homeland of my uku – Hawaii! Watch out for this guy – Justin Kawika Young!

Btw, I sneaked into my brother’s room today and saw a postcard of David Tao from his latest album. And guess what? He’s holding on to a ukulele! Oh M G~ My dear uku is d-definitely going to have some serious limelight nowadays.

Did I mention that I found my dear kitty fren (or rather she decided to return to this home ground)? Yes! She’s here and my parents were introduced to her. She’s all smiles and loves them all! She is absolutely friendly and clingy that I needa be cold hearted and sneak off every time I need to go. She follows me right to my doorstep if I don’t. Anyways, I brought her to my doorstep today and fed her. =) I so wanted to just bring her inside (although she did put one paw on my door curb) and just have her in our family. But I shuddered as I imagine how my dad is gonna smack me after he returns home…

Before I returned home to meet my dear fren today, it was rather a shitty day, with some shits and irritation, nagging from several fronts. I’ve been reading W for quite a while now, and on the spur of the moment, it kinda inspired me to talk to myself in my head. That really works! I told myself, literally like another person/voice, to stay calm and think of things from another angle. And I didn’t flare up or became rude. That’s good. But it’s quite an effort, which I guess I should be training myself starting from now. Just hope my facial expressions wouldn’t expose my twisted thoughts while processing.

I’m spending the night learning my string instrument, and again and not surprisingly, overwhelmed by the loads of stuff to absorb, learn and memorize. And it’s like a can of worms, once you come across something you don’t know, u find out about it, which then leads you to another thing that you never heard of, and the pattern goes on, occasionally fueled by some very interesting and not relevant stuff. Eventually, an entire night will be spent on something not very uku, maybe just broadening knowledge, and also not practicing and just surfing.

Uku galore. She just became one of my fav singer last night, and she plays uku! =) And i think I’d just fallen for her. Her band is quite a nice one?, cuz there is this quite cute guy as the second vocals and acoustic guitar, and a teenager-slightly-over-self-indulged electric guitar player, and a little plumpish drummer. And I think of our band. Oh gosh, how can we be like them? At least the vocal is already outta possibility.

Trying to learn more bout uku playing skills tonight and it turned out to be super tough. I r-really can’t coordinate! everything! singing, strumming, chord change! I can’t make myself better! What should I do?

I just realized that, to me, reading a really good story book is like watching a really good movie. Words become the scenes, comprising all like musics, voices, sounds, atmospheres, emotions etc. And the good thing about this is that books are thicker and take longer time to read. And thus, the good movie plays for a longer time, and I can enjoy myself for a longer time too! We always wish that a good movie can never end.

It had once probably been a big mixing bowl, but she’d bent the bowl back in on itself until it was shaped almost exactly like a dog dish. I had to be impressed with her quick craftsmanship. And her attention to detail. She’d scratched the word Fido into the side. Excellent handwriting.

My ‘anyhow’ cookie baking succeeded, and i like did everything under 1 hour. Hah! Guess my baking bible needs to retreat!
